How to contribute your WVO
It was towards the end of the year 2005 when I first thought of driving around the world in a car that makes its own biodiesel fuel (BDF) with a little machine built in. Back then, I really did not know much about this fuel yet. So I got it immediately and started driving on BDF. Since then I drove on 100% BDF through Japan (from Hokkaido to Kyusyu), Europe for 12,500 miles (20,000km) and completed Dakar Rally, which is one of the extreme harshest environment for a new fuel to be tested. By the time I had tested BDF for a year, I was convinced that this fuel has possibilities to take some parts we have been relying on fossil oil.

Used frying oil for food is troublesome waste. But it could be recycled to be used as fuel for cars and generators. However, BDF is relatively new and there are a lot of unknown factors about the process and the fuel itself in the long term. My idea was to really test BDF and to know how it does, we have to drive on 100% BDF for at least 62,500 miles (10,000km). That is why I decided to make it a world trip. As you may notice, there are not that many biodiesel stations in the world. When I was struggling with the ides how to have fuel when we need it, suddenly it hit me. "We just have to make it on our own. Where? Of course, in the car !" That is how I came to the idea of building a tiny processor to fit in the car. And I wanted to recycle used oil and collect it in some unique and fun ways in different places in the world. "Biodiesel Adventure" was born.
